A Federal Government Department is seeking a Senior Network Engineering Expert to design, build, and support advanced network infrastructure across a large-scale environment. This role is responsible for overseeing data center networking, mainframe, server, and security infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with strategic objectives. The initial contract is for 12 months with the possibility of a 24-month extension.

The successful Senior Network Engineering Expert will be responsible for:

• Designing and managing infrastructure for network and computing environments, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Overseeing the development and implementation of network designs, providing technical and strategic advice to executive teams.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives and managing change to enhance network infrastructure capabilities.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and third-party vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years\' experience in large-scale data center networking, including Cisco, F5, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Expertise in high-level network design and configuration for complex enterprise environments.
• Strong skills in diagnostics, problem-solving, and producing design documentation.
• Knowledge of Australian Government security policies, including the ASD Information Security Manual.
