One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage a highly skilled BI Architect to develop and optimise BI solutions using tools such as SQL Server and Power BI Desktop. As a member of the Agile Project team you will also work closely with Product Owners and Vendors to establish business and technical requirements. The role can be based from Canberra, Sydney or Brisbane with flexible working arrangements also available. The successful BI Architect will be offered a 12 month contract with 2 X 12 month extension options.  

The successful BI Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Delivering architecture and design documentation to better understand Enterprise patterns and data technologies
• Researching data trends to guide the departments data usage standards and principles  
• Supporting development and test teams to realise Solution Architecture
• Looking at on premises cloud and hybrid environments including cloud computing  

The successful BI Architect will have experience in the following:

• Experience with Data BI platforms such as Teradata, Oracle, SAS and Power BI
• Experience migrating BI artefacts from other BI tools into Power BI
• Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills
• Knowledge of governance methods in relation to Power BI
