One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Unix/Linux Engineer to play a vital role in managing their Midrange Unix Infrastructure. You will be responsible for mentoring junior Infrastructure Engineers and troubleshooting across Level 2 and Level 3 support. The role will be based in Canberra with flexible working arrangements available. The successful Unix/Linux Engineer will be offered a 12 month contract with 2 X 12 month extension options.   

The successful Unix/Linux Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Evaluating and assisting in the ongoing support of ISM complainant Midrange Unix Infrastructure platforms
• Participating in Incident Response and Problem Management activities
• Understanding business continuity requirements to plan and build solutions that support it
• Supporting formal Change Management Processes

The successful Unix/Linux Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems
• Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation
• Knowledge or experience of the VMware platform
• Certified Red Hat Administrator, Red Hat Engineer or Oracle Solaris Administrator (desirable)
