A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an experienced Principal Advisor / Security Engineer to develop and enhance the departments ICT security systems. The successful Principal Advisor / Security Engineer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with the view to extended for a further 2 x 12 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Principal Advisor / Security Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Executing systems engineering tasks in the design, development, deployment and sustainment of security capabilities
• Developing complex analytics across large and varied datasets to achieve insights.
• Delivering technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval and execution by system developers.
• Establish use cases, procedures and technical documentation to ensure delivery of security services.

The successful Principal Advisor / Security Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Proven knowledge of information security principles, Practices and technologies.
• Proven experience in the development of complex analytics visualisations and integrations using tableau, Splunk, Atlassian or other data analytics platforms.
• An expert in gathering business requirements, then designing and deploying technical solutions.
• Strong Leadership and Communication skills including mentoring and stakeholder engagement.
