Principal Android Developer (Software Engineer) to join a high-performing digital delivery team. The successful Principal Android Developer will play a key role in leading the design, development, and delivery of high-quality mobile applications within a large-scale, user-focused environment.

The successful Principal Android Developer will secure an initial 12-month contract with extension options, based in ACT, VIC, QLD or SA with hybrid working arrangements.

The Principal Android Developer will be responsible for but not limited to;

• Writing optimised, high-quality code and providing technical leadership to development teams
• Leading the design and development of native Android applications (Java/Kotlin)
• Designing and integrating with backend services via APIs and web services
• Driving engineering best practices including code reviews, CI/CD, and automation
• Contributing to architecture, governance, and development standards across teams

The Principal Android Developer will have experience in the following:

• Strong experience developing native Android applications using Java or Kotlin
• Expertise with modern SDK tools, version control (Git, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with automation testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cucumber, Mockito)
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, TDD)
• Strong commitment to software craftsmanship – clean, testable, maintainable code
