A leading Federal Government Agency is seeking a highly skilled Senior SAS Developer/ SAS Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain SAS-based data solutions to support evidence-based decision-making. The role involves working with large and complex datasets, ensuring data integrity, and delivering high-quality analytical outputs for internal and external stakeholders. The Senior SAS Developer/ SAS Software Engineer will secure a 12-month contract with the view to extend up to 24 months, based in SA or ACT with hybrid working arrangements.

As a Senior SAS Developer/ SAS Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Develop, test, and maintain SAS programs for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Optimise SAS code to enhance performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• Ensure all data processes meet governance, privacy, and security standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to translate requirements into technical solutions, while providing guidance to junior analysts.
• Work with large, complex datasets to perform advanced data manipulation and contribute to continuous improvement in analytics and reporting.

The Senior SAS Developer/ SAS Software Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Advanced SAS development expertise, including SAS Base, SAS Macro, SAS/SQL, Data Integration Studio, DataFlux, Enterprise Guide, and strong SQL skills across relational databases
• Proficiency in software development and configuration of complex SAS programs, scripts, and integration services
• Experience designing moderately complex software components, system components, interfaces, and models;
• Skilled in release, deployment, systems integration, and build processes and performing integration testing with supporting documentation.
• Strong testing and application support capabilities including performing application support, maintenance, and issue resolution using enterprise tools such as IBM Spectrum and LSF Process Manager.
