One of Australia’s most progressive Federal Government agencies is looking to engage an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing Engineering Services team. You will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options and enjoy a flexible hybrid working arrangement in Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. 

The successful Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Providing critical support to the organisation’s OpenShift installation
• Maintaining and enhancing the software delivery pipeline, including automated testing, builds, deployments, and observability
• Designing, delivering, and supporting Azure-based cloud and hybrid platforms within enterprise and government environments

The successful Senior Software Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Strong experience with OpenShift, CI/CD servers, Git repository managers, artefact repositories, static code analysers, and observability tools
• Demonstrated experience developing business systems in Java and complementary web technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript
• Practical knowledge of application security, including authentication, authorisation, and role-based access control
