One of Australia’s leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage an experienced Lead Mainframe Data Engineer to support the delivery of enterprise scale data platforms and analytics solutions. The successful candidate will join a high performing team working on complex data environments that impact millions of Australians. The role offers a 12-month contract with extension options up to 24 months.

The successful Lead Mainframe Data Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Designing, developing and maintaining mainframe data pipelines supporting data warehouse solutions
• Developing and optimising SAS programs (Base, Macro, SQL) for data extraction, transformation and reporting
• Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Ensuring data integrity, quality, and compliance with governance and security standards

The successful Lead Mainframe Data Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Strong experience with IBM Mainframe technologies, including JCL and DB2
• Proven expertise in SAS (Base, Macro, SAS/SQL) within data analytics/reporting environments
• Experience building and optimising ETL/data pipelines and data warehouse solutions
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
