One of Australia’s most progressive Federal Government agencies is looking to engage an experienced Senior Front End Designer and Developer to support the ongoing development, enhancement and uplift of key national ICT systems. The successful Senior Front End Designer and Developer will be responsible for developing high-quality front-end system components and interfaces, improving user experience, and supporting priority BAU and project delivery outcomes.

The successful Senior Front End Designer/Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Planning, developing, maintaining and enhancing front-end system interfaces, components and related processes.
• Designing and developing significant system and service interface uplifts across high-priority applications.
• Developing front-end components according to business requirements and project direction.
• Performing software design, coding, review and testing to deliver interface upgrades, new features and enhanced user capabilities.

The successful Senior Front End Designer/Developer will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated experience supporting or developing user-facing applications and systems using technologies such as HTML5, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, React and API interactions.
• Experience working in environments involving Java, JEE frameworks, Kubernetes/containerisation, Oracle, Unix and Windows.
• Strong understanding of front-end UI/UX design principles, usability uplift and modern interface design.
• Experience working with Agile or Waterfall ICT project teams, with strong organisation, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Long term Senior Front End Designer and Developer role offers a diverse work environment and attractive contracting rates. This is an initial 12 month contract with 2 x 12 month extension options and flexible hybrid working arrangements across ACT, NSW or VIC.
