A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their Infrastructure Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across both operational and project environments, supporting a global network and driving cloud transformation initiatives. The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will provide technical leadership in on-premises and cloud infrastructure, delivering secure, efficient, and resilient ICT services to users across Australia and overseas. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with a 12-month extension, open to candidates in ACT, with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.

The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Managing and supporting on-premises and cloud environments, including Azure IaaS and PaaS.
• Overseeing Data Centre compute, backup, and storage infrastructure.
• Implementing and maintaining system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management in line with federal security frameworks (PSPF, ISM).
• Collaborating with architecture and project teams to design and deliver cloud migrations and service improvements.

To be successful, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will demonstrate:

• Strong technical experience across VMware, Azure, Active Directory, and enterprise storage.
• Proven ability to deliver infrastructure solutions and manage small projects to agreed timeframes.
• Experience applying cyber security controls and compliance aligned with PSPF and ISM standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to mentor and share knowledge.
