A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking experienced Solution Architects to join their Information Management and Technology Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to design and deliver end-to-end technology solutions that support critical business outcomes and contribute to Australia’s international operations. The successful Solution Architect will work across major ICT projects, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with department's technology strategy. This role offers an initial 12-month contract with two 12-month extensions, based in Canberra with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.

The successful Solution Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Design and deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective technical solutions, including high-level and detailed architecture documentation, diagrams, and specifications.
• Define system interfaces, data flows, and integration patterns, creating reference architectures, capability models, and roadmaps for current and future states.
• Coordinate implementation activities, resolve technical challenges, and ensure designs are effectively realised while maintaining compliance with department's standards.
• Engage in governance forums such as the Design Authority (DA) and Architecture Review Board (ARB) to uphold design quality and provide architectural assurance.

To be successful, the Solution Architect will demonstrate:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the ICT industry and at least 2 years producing solution architecture/system design documentation.
• Proven experience working on secure government systems and in complex ICT environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise and business architecture, solution design, and information security principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple domains (Network, Application/Cloud, Infrastructure & Data).
