A prominent Federal Government department is seeking multiple Cloud Solutions Architects and Principal Cloud Enterprise Architects to support major cloud transformation initiatives. These long-term contract opportunities offer the chance to contribute directly to Australia’s national security posture by delivering scalable, secure, and robust cloud capabilities for high-value government systems.

Working within a high-profile TS Cloud Program, successful applicants will shape and implement next-generation cloud architectures, uplift cyber maturity, and lead the delivery of secure enterprise cloud services across critical national platforms. Roles are based in ACT. Positive Vetting (PV) clearance is mandatory.

The successful Cloud Solutions Architects and Principal Cloud Enterprise Architects will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable cloud-based solutions aligned to ASD and NIC strategic requirements.
• Translating complex business needs and whole-of-government security requirements into actionable cloud architectures, patterns, and technical designs.
• Developing and maintaining cloud capability roadmaps, technical models, enterprise service catalogues, and governance frameworks.
• Identifying system interdependencies, technical risks, and mitigation pathways to ensure secure and successful capability delivery.
• Ensuring cloud solutions comply with Commonwealth cyber frameworks, including Essential Eight, AWS Conformance Packs, Zero Trust Architecture principles, ICAM, and secure multi-cloud practices.
• Leading the design and integration of secure networking, boundary protection mechanisms, AWS Control Tower guardrails, automated provisioning, and Infrastructure-as-Code architectures.
• Collaborating across multidisciplinary technical and security teams, senior stakeholders, and strategic partners to align cloud transformation activities to organisational objectives.
• Monitoring emerging cloud technologies and advising on opportunities for uplift or modernisation across hybrid, private, and public cloud environments.

The successful Cloud Solutions Architects and Principal Cloud Enterprise Architects will have experience in the following:

• Strong experience architecting and delivering secure cloud solutions (AWS, Azure), ideally within the NIC or other high-security government environments.
• Deep technical knowledge of secure cloud design, including Zero Trust Architecture, ICAM, cross-domain solutions, transit gateways, PrivateLink, and air-gapped environments.
• Expertise in cloud governance, automated guardrails, and CloudFormation/Terraform-based Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Ability to analyse complex system requirements, evaluate security impacts, and communicate architecture decisions clearly to senior technical and executive audiences.
• Proven ability to lead or influence enterprise-level cloud strategy, service catalogues, and policy development.
• Relevant cloud or architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, TOGAF, Zachman) highly regarded.
