A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Technical Writer Content Designer to join a high-performing project delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of clear, accurate and user-focused technical documentation across complex CRM and related project environments. The successful Technical Writer Content Designer will produce a range of design, configuration, technical support, training and user documentation, working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex concepts into accessible content. The  will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extensions, based in Canberra with flexible hybrid work arrangements considered in line with business requirements.

The successful Technical Writer Content Designer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Produce high-quality design, configuration, technical support and training documentation for complex project environments.
  • Develop technical reference material, system design documentation, service support documents and user-friendly training guides.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, plain-English content for technical, non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with Commonwealth Style Guide, accessibility requirements and project delivery standards.

To be successful, the Technical Writer Content Designer will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality online software documentation using clear, plain and user-centred English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Confluence and JIRA to support documentation, collaboration and reporting.
  • Experience delivering measurable outputs in alignment with SAFe delivery practices, including planning, review and continuous improvement.
  • Strong critical thinking, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience in large, complex environments highly regarded.
