A prominent Federal Government department is seeking experienced Senior Gateway Engineers to support secure internet gateway infrastructure across a complex government ICT environment. The successful Senior Gateway Engineers will manage, troubleshoot and enhance gateway technologies including firewalls, proxy, email, DNS, load balancers, IPS/IDS and sandboxing solutions. . The Senior Gateway Engineers will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2x 12-month extension options, open to candidates Australia wide, with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.

The successful Senior Gateway Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Managing and supporting Secure Internet Gateway infrastructure and network services
• Troubleshooting gateway devices including firewalls, proxy, email, DNS, load balancers and IPS/IDS
• Maintaining gateway security through patching, hardening, cyber hygiene and policy enforcement
• Supporting documentation, monitoring, incident response and after-hours operational activities

To be successful, the Senior Gateway Engineers will demonstrate:

• Experience managing gateway infrastructure including firewalls, proxy, mail servers, DNS and VPN
• Experience implementing and maintaining IPS/IDS and/or Web Application Firewalls
• Knowledge of F5 load balancing, Windows/Linux, Cisco routers/switches, BGP and OSPF
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of ISM, ACSC Gateway Guidance and government security standards
