A leading Federal Government agency is seeking skilled Data Scientists (multiple levels) to join a nationally significant program shaping data-driven policy and service delivery outcomes. These roles offer long-term opportunities within a high-impact environment where your work will directly influence national decision-making. The successful Data Scientists (multiple levels)will be offered a 12-month contract with 1 x 12-month extension option and hybrid working arrangements!

The successful Data Scientists (multiple levels)will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Lead or contribute to data analysis, policy briefs, and stakeholder engagement.
• Apply advanced R, Python, SQL/SAS and modelling techniques to solve policy and operational challenges.
• Design and implement statistical, mathematical, and machine learning models to support forecasting, scenario testing, and product development.
• Manage or support the preparation of dashboards, visualisations, reports, and insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and present findings tailored to executive, technical, and policy audiences.
• (Lead & Senior) Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight of project teams and deliverables.

The successful Data Scientists (multiple levels) will have experience in the following:

• Proven data analytics/data science expertise, ideally within government or large-scale policy environments.
• Proficiency in R & Python programming, with strong SQL/SAS skills.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Strong understanding of statistical modelling techniques (GLMs, gradient boosting, forecasting, ML).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• (Lead & Senior) Demonstrated experience in leadership, planning, and team management.
