A High-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an experienced Chief Architect/ Enterprise Architect to provide strategic leadership and direction across enterprise-wide architecture initiatives. This high-impact role is responsible for aligning technology and business outcomes, shaping the future ICT landscape, and ensuring architectural excellence across complex national programs. The successful Chief Architect/ Enterprise Architect will be offered an initial 12-month contract with the view to extend for a further 12 months, flexible hybrid work arrangements and open to candidates across ACT, NSW, VIC or QLD.

The successful Chief Architect/ Enterprise Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Provide strategic technology leadership and oversight across the agency’s enterprise architecture function.
• Develop and maintain roadmaps, reference models, standards, and principles to guide the organisation’s ICT investment path.
• Engage and influence senior executives, business units, and vendors to align ICT capability with strategic outcomes.
• Represent the organisation’s interests across cross-government architecture forums and contribute to whole-of-government collaboration.
• Provide expert advisory services on ICT investment, risk, and governance to inform business cases and decision-making.

The successful Chief Architect/ Enterprise Architect will have experience in the following:

• Proven success delivering large-scale architectural change across complex programs, aligning technology capabilities to enterprise goals and driving innovation.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating, recommending, and adopting emerging technologies to deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Comprehensive understanding of governance, security, and compliance frameworks, with a strong commitment to ethical and professional standards in public sector environments.
• TOGAF or equivalent certification and tertiary qualifications in ICT or related discipline, with experience across multi-cloud, digital transformation, and service domains such as insurance, health, or disability services.
