A Federal Government department is seeking a Data Analyst to support strategic data initiatives and reporting functions. The successful candidate will secure an initial 6 month contract with 2 x 12 month extension options and hybrid work flexibility.

The successful Data Analysts will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and visualisations to support reporting and business needs.
• Analysing emerging datasets to identify trends and provide actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
• Managing routine reporting, data validation, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and usability.
• Preparing clear and concise written and visual outputs for briefings, reports, and decision-making.
• Supporting strategic data initiatives including deep-dive analysis, scenario modelling, and enhancement of analytical tools and practices.

The successful Lead Data Analysts will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data, and visualise complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting analytical findings to varied audiences using appropriate tools and methods.
• Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and deliver outcomes.
• Experience in data management, quality assurance, and reporting processes using tools such as Python, R, SQL, and Power BI.
