A Federal Government Agency is seeking an experienced Oracle SQL Administrator / Architect to support the design, administration, and optimisation of enterprise database platforms within a nationally significant environment. The Oracle SQL Administrator / Architect will play a critical part in ensuring database performance, availability, security, and compliance over an initial 12-month engagement, while supporting major technology initiatives.

The successful Oracle SQL Administrator / Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Administer and manage Oracle and SQL-based database environments to ensure performance, availability, and security.
• Design, implement, and maintain database and infrastructure solutions in collaboration with application, platform, and architecture teams.
• Lead and contribute to technology initiatives, including lifecycle upgrades, automation, and PaaS migration activities.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, automation, and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with security standards (including ISM and Essential 8), data integrity, and high-quality technical documentation.

The successful Oracle SQL Administrator / Architect must have experience in the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in database administration, IT engineering, or senior DBA roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Server and SQL Server (MS-SQL / Azure SQL) platforms.
• Experience supporting database design, build, and operational support strategies in complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
