A leading Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Lead Cyber Advisor to to join a fast-paced and high-performing ICT cyber security team. This role will play a critical part in strengthening cyber resilience by providing expert security advice, conducting detailed risk assessments, and contributing to the development of core security documentation across complex ICT environments.

This is a senior advisory role suited to cyber security professionals with strong technical judgement, excellent communication skills, and a proven background working within Government security frameworks.

The successful Cyber Advisor will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Conduct cyber security risk assessments in line with PSPF and ISM requirements
• Develop, review, and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) and SSP Annexes (SSP-A)
• Provide expert security guidance on application and system design, including cloud and legacy environments
• Prepare and present security risk findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to ensure security compliance and implementation

The successful Cyber Advisor must have experience in the following:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience conducting cyber security risk assessments within Government
• Strong working knowledge of PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight (mandatory)
• Experience assessing complex ICT environments, including Azure cloud and legacy systems
• Ability to communicate cyber security risks clearly to both technical and executive audiences
• Strong understanding of ICT and networking infrastructure
