A leading Federal Government department is looking to engage 2 x Application Security Specialists to support the secure deployment of systems into a new enterprise environment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the uplift of organisational application security capability across infrastructure, cloud and development streams. The successful Application Security Specialist will be offered a contract until 30 June 2027 with a 12-month extension option.

The successful Application Security Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Planning and executing penetration testing activities across web applications, cloud services, domain environments and custom platforms
• Conducting cyber threat emulation, control validation and threat modelling exercises to assess security posture
• Performing static and dynamic code analysis (black box, grey box and white box methodologies)
• Producing high-quality security artefacts including test plans, vulnerability reports and mitigation recommendations

The successful Application Security Specialist will have experience in the following:

• Proven background in penetration testing, secure code review and vulnerability identification using offensive security tools
• Strong knowledge of PTES, MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP ASVS and Government security frameworks (ISM, PSPF)
• Experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, Kali Linux and related frameworks
• Scripting and programming capability (Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript or similar)
