One of Australia's leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator/ SQL DBA to provide specialist development, technical services, and support for the department’s database management capabilities. The successful Database Administrator/ SQL DBA will be offered a 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extensions!

The successful Database Administrator/ SQL DBA will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining MS SQL database instances, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Developing, implementing, and managing database clustering, maintenance plans, including automated backups and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues across hybrid and cloud environments

The successful Database Administrator/ SQL DBA will have experience in the following:

• Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server products, including use of Always-On Availability Groups, Azure SQL databases.
• Strong SQL/T-SQL, PowerShell to support the SQL Server software and streamline or automate daily database management activities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to database management.
