A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Digital Forensic Investigator to lead and conduct complex digital forensic investigations across enterprise systems, devices, and cloud environments. The successful Lead Forensic Investigator will support the department's digital forensic capability, ensuring integrity of evidence, contributing to cyber incident response, and enhancing forensic tooling and processes. The role is offered as an initial 12-month engagement with 2 x 12-month extensions, based onsite in Canberra ACT

The Digital Forensic Investigator will be responsible for but not limited to;

• Leading and conducting in-depth digital forensic investigations across devices, systems and cloud environments
• Performing forensic evidence collection, ensuring chain of custody and integrity is maintained
• Producing detailed investigation reports and actionable remediation recommendations
• Supporting knowledge sharing by developing SOPs, process documentation and forensic workflows
• Overseeing the forensic tooling suite, ensuring tools are updated, patched and managed effectively

The Digital Forensic Investigator will have experience in the following:

• Prior experience as a Digital Forensic Investigator
• Strong experience leading, planning and executing forensic investigations
• Well-developed documentation and investigative reporting skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and share knowledge within a cyber-focused team
• Experience with forensic tools such as Autopsy, Cellebrite, Volatility, FTK Suite or Wireshark (highly desirable)
