We are seeking an experienced Lead ICT Security Assessor to join a high-performing Federal Government agency within the Defence portfolio. This exciting opportunity will see you conduct security assessments for the authorisation of classified systems, contributing to projects that protect Australia’s national interests. The successful Lead ICT Security Assessor will secure an initial 12-month contract with the view to be extended for 2 years and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The Lead ICT Security Assessor will be responsible for but not limited to;

• Conducting ICT security assessments, risk analyses, and security control reviews for complex systems.
• Preparing security assessment reports, briefs, and recommendations to support Authorisation to Operate decisions.
• Engaging with Defence, Government, and project stakeholders to ensure consistent security outcomes.
• Contributing to security governance, policy development, and mentoring junior team members.

The Lead ICT Security Assessor will have experience in the following:

• Security architecture, security operations, communication and network security, and risk management.
• Assessing compliance with the Essential Eight, ISM, PSPF, and related security frameworks.
• Preparing security assessments, risk documentation, and assurance activities for ICT environments.
• IRAP certification (highly desirable) and a minimum of 3 years\' experience in a cyber security specialist role.
