A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage Senior Data Engineers to contribute to the development of enterprise data platforms, integration solutions and analytical datasets that support large-scale digital transformation initiatives. You will provide technical leadership across complex data programs while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers and support teams to deliver scalable and maintainable data solutions. The successful Senior Data Engineers will be offered an initial 12 month contract with the view to extend for a further 12 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate. 

The successful Senior Data Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to data delivery teams through design reviews, technical advice and implementation best practices.
• Design, develop and maintain enterprise data integration solutions, ETL processes and analytical datasets across complex data environments.
• Lead the implementation of new data assets from analysis and design through to deployment, operational support and continuous improvement.
• Develop and optimise SQL-based solutions, conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with established engineering standards and frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, testers and support teams to translate business requirements into scalable enterprise data solutions.

The successful Senior Data Engineers will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing and supporting enterprise data warehouse solutions using technologies such as MS SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Teradata or similar platforms.
• Advanced programming skills with strong SQL experience and proficiency in technologies such as Python, SAS, R or Java.
• Strong expertise in SQL development, optimisation, troubleshooting and reverse engineering of complex code bases.
• Proven experience interpreting data models, technical specifications and solution designs within enterprise environments.
• Experience working in DevOps environments, utilising version control tools and supporting structured software delivery and release processes.
