A high-profile Federal Government Department is looking to engage an experienced Senior Gateway Engineer (Senior Infrastructure Engineer) to support a priority ICT program focused on delivering secure and resilient gateway and networking solutions. The successful Senior Gateway Engineer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with options to extend up to 24 months and will receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Senior Gateway Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Designing, evaluating, and implementing infrastructure requirements to meet future demand.
• Providing expert technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities.
• Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining documentation including design artefacts, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures.
• Assisting in the development of strategies, policies, procedures, and change initiatives.
• Providing specialist technical advice, including strategic input to senior executives.

The successful Senior Gateway Engineer will have experience in the following:

• At least five years of experience in the design, management, and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environments.
• Cisco Data Centre technologies (Cisco ACI, Routers, Nexus switches, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Palo Alto firewalls and IPS solutions.
• VPN technologies, email, and DNS (Infoblox) solutions.
• Knowledge of government security standards including ASD ISM and Essential Eight.
