A high profile Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to be responsible for engaging with business teams to analyse, document and translate business requirements into actionable insights with a focus on improving data quality, accessibility and use in decision making. The successful Senior Business Analyst will be offered an initial 12 month contract with the view to extend for a further 12 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Collaborate with different business teams to identify and prioritise business problems that can be addressed with data and analytics
• Use strategic thinking to connect data activities to overarching policy priorities and the departments goals
• Engage with data scientists to discover innovative solutions for addressing these challenges through data requirements, within the existing system
• Work within agile frameworks, collaborating with data and technical teams to ensure seamless communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful Senior Business Analyst will have experience in the following:

• Strong Business Analyst skills including requirements gathering, process mapping and stakeholder engagement
• Demonstrated experience in data and analytics projects with understanding of data management principles.
• Problem solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and business value.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
