One of Australia’s leading Federal Government Departments is looking to engage an experienced Senior Web Developer to join their multidisciplinary team. The successful Senior Web Developer will be responsible for front-end development using React. The role will require collaboration with backend engineers, product managers, and User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) designers to provide robust, scalable, and user-focused web applications. The successful Senior Web Developer will secure an initial 12 month contract with the view to be extended for 24 months with a receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Senior Web Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Developing, maintaining, enhancing modern web interfaces using React and TypeScript, translating designs and wireframes into high quality code and optimising components for maximum performance across a vast array of web capable devices and browsers.
• Working closely with backend developers (Java) to integrate application programming interfaces (API's) and data pipelines.
• Driving UI/UX improvements and ensure high standards of usability and performance.
• Mentoring junior developers and contribute to technical decisions and best practices.

The successful Senior Web Developer will have experience in the following:

• Expertise in JavaScript and User Interface (UI) frameworks, particularly React and TypeScript and component-based architecture.
• Experience with Git, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, testing frameworks, particularly Jest.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, performance optimisation, and user experience (UX) principles
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Experience working directly with UI/UX designers on creating UI.
