A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an experienced Application Systems Engineer to join an established team. You will implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.  The successful OpenStack Infrastructure Engineer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with the view to extended for a further 24 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Application Systems Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Provide ongoing support and technical administration for a variety of commercial and bespoke corporate applications in web and desktop environments
• Diagnose and resolve system issues and contribute to the resolution of incidents
• Plan, test, and execute patching activities to ensure compliance with security and regulatory policies and deliver system enhancements
• Write and review documentation and standard operating procedures

The successful Application Systems Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Experience in Enterprise administration of COTS applications
• Hands on experience in one or more of the following, LEX (Legal Case Management), IBM Planning Analytics, Atlassian Jira, Blue Prism Robotic Process Automation
• Ability to collaborats with others to implemented agreed remedies and preventative measures.
• Windows Server and IIS (plus basic Linux): Environment configuration, certificates, scheduled jobs, and service troubleshooting
