One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments is looking to engage an experienced Cyber Operations Security Expert to support and contribute to the protection of the Agency’s systems, users, and data. The successful Cyber Operations Security Expert will secure a 18 month contract with the view to be extended for a further 18 months and receive a rewarding hourly rate!

The successful Cyber Operations Security Expert will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Lead proactive monitoring, investigation, and mitigation of security incidents within security tools (including Sentinel, Microsoft Defender 365 stack, Azure Security Centre, Splunk)
• Analyse security event data and identifying suspicious/malicious activity from networks and systems
• Lead incident response activities including initial and detailed investigation, computer forensics, chain of custody implications

The successful Cyber Operations Security Expert will have experience in the following:

• Minimum 7 years in IT or cybersecurity, with at least 3 years operating at a management or senior architectural level
• Direct experience leading high severity cyber investigations, threat hunting, & crisis management.
• Deep, multi-domain technology experience encompassing cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
