A high-profile Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Senior User Researcher / User Research Designer to support the design and delivery of user-centred digital products and services. You will work across UX research, human-centred design, usability testing and accessibility, delivering actionable insights that improve digital experiences and inform strategic design decisions. The successful Senior User Researcher will be offered an initial 12-month contract with the view to be extended, based in QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA or TAS, with hybrid working arrangements.

The successful Senior User Researcher will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, including interviews, surveys and contextual research.

• Lead usability testing of digital services, concepts and prototypes to identify user needs and opportunities.

• Analyse research findings and translate complex insights into actionable recommendations for product and design teams.

• Develop personas, journey maps, research reports and other research artefacts while supporting accessible and inclusive design.

The successful Senior User Researcher will have experience in the following:

• User research and human-centred design across digital products and services.

• Qualitative and quantitative research methods, usability testing and research synthesis.

• Accessibility, inclusive research practices and ethical research considerations.

• Communicating research insights and collaborating with UX/UI designers, product owners and multidisciplinary Agile teams.
