A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking experienced Lead Data Engineers to support the delivery of enterprise-wide analytics and data solutions. The successful Lead Data Engineers will be engaged on an initial 12-month contract, with two 12-month extension options, and flexible hybrid work arrangements.

The successful Lead Data Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Designing, building, and testing complex ETL/ELT pipelines across Azure cloud platforms
• Preparing data optimised for query performance in cloud-computed engines such as Spark, Graph Databases, and Azure SQL
• Developing and implementing data storage solutions and analytics models using technologies like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL Server
• Supporting uplift of engineering best practices, data governance, and capability maturity within agile teams
• Mentoring junior data engineers and acting as a technical escalation point

The successful Lead Data Engineers will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated experience delivering data movement, transformation, and visualisation processes in a cloud environment
• Proven capability with Azure stack including Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Server, and Data Lake
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate within agile, multi-disciplinary teams
• Familiarity with tools such as DevOps, Visual Studio, and experience with data preparation using Parquet and Delta formats
• Understanding of analytics and data technologies such as Azure Machine Learning and ArcGIS Enterprise
