A high-profile Federal Government Department is looking to engage an experienced Technical Lead / Software Engineering Lead (Principal Software Engineer). The successful candidate will be offered a contract until 30 June 2026 with 2 x 12-month extension options and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Technical Lead / Software Engineering Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Owning and communicating the technical strategy for supported products from design through BAU support
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight of software development (.NET and Angular)
• Supporting the team in resolving technical blockers and serving as the escalation point for decisions
• Driving continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to frameworks, governance, and best practices

The successful Technical Lead / Software Engineering Lead will have experience in the following:

• Strong stakeholder engagement and professional relationship management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven software development experience in .NET and Angular
• Experience developing technical documentation, guides, designs, and architectural artefacts
