A leading Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud & Automation Engineer to support the delivery of secure, scalable and resilient cloud automation capabilities. This role will play a critical part in uplifting cloud maturity, optimising platform reliability, and enabling automated solutions across complex protected environments. The successful candidate will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extensions.

 

The successful Senior Cloud & Automation Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Identifying opportunities for automation across systems, applications and software processes.
• Designing and implementing automated solutions for cloud-based infrastructure, including scripting and IaC.
• Running and executing automated tests across databases, systems, networks and applications.
• Managing complex cloud environments and applying strong security practices to protect sensitive data.

 

The successful Senior Cloud & Automation Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated experience in software development and computer programming, supported by a relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline

• Experience in using automation tools to design, implement and enhance automated workflows across systems and applications

• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform advanced system, network and application testing

• Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, organisational capability and attention to detail in a technical environment
