One of Australia's most progressive Federal Government departments are looking to engage an Infrastructure Engineer/System Administrator to implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports the departments digital services. The successful Infrastructure Engineer/Systems Administrator will work closely with Senior Engineers and will be offered a 12 month contract with a 12 month extension option.
The successful Infrastructure Engineer/Systems Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Providing Infrastructure Engineer / Systems Administrator services to plan, deploy, configure, and support solutions
- Providing leadership and manage vendor, technical and business stakeholder relationships.
- Designing and configuring infrastructure across the full stack to support business applications and data flows.
- Providing technical direction/advice to vendors performing professional services.
The successful Infrastructure Engineer/Systems Administrator will have experience in the following:
- Linux (Ubuntu) administration: hardening, patching, optimisation, troubleshooting; familiarity with AppArmor.

Experience in design, configuration, and support of Linux infrastructure and Windows Infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and Git/GitLab.

Virtualisation experience in VMware vSphere and ESXi including lifecycle management and performance optimisation.
