A leading Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Technical Administrator to support highly specialised, secure environments. This role offers a rare opportunity to work within a highly technical ecosystem, supporting innovative research capabilities while ensuring compliance with strict security frameworks. As the Technical Administrator, you will support the build, operation and documentation of advanced computational networks and trial systems. You will work closely with research teams to enable bespoke ICT environments tailored to scientific instrumentation, experimental systems and secure data workflows.
The successful Technical Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Building, deploying and documenting specialised research ICT infrastructure in labs and experimental environments
- Enabling secure connectivity between experimental systems and core research networks
- Administering research network devices, firewalls and data movement services across multiple classifications
- Collaborating with Stakeholders to develop tailored ICT solutions
The successful Technical Administrator will have experience in the following:
- Demonstrated experience across Technical platforms including Linux and/or Windows Desktop and Server and supporting network services such as AD, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with Python scripting for automation, tooling, data handling or supporting research system workflows
- Experience writing technical and security documentation (SOPs, As-Built documents, ISM artefacts)
- Ability to interpret requirements and develop bespoke ICT solutions
