A Federal Government Department is seeking a Geospatial Analyst to join their National Geospatial Products team. This role will focus on improving the accessibility and usability of a historical aerial photography (HAP) image collection containing over 1.3 million image frames, contributing to nationally significant geospatial datasets.

The successful Geospatial Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Processing HAP metadata using automation scripts to generate georeferenced information.
• Uploading and updating spatial databases with imagery and raster datasets.
• Conducting quality checks, flagging issues, and preparing final files for catalogue upload.
• Supporting improvements to processes and maintaining accurate task documentation.

The successful Geospatial Analyst will have experience in the following:

• Experience with FME and ArcGIS Pro software.
• Strong skills managing and cataloguing spatial data, particularly imagery and raster.
• Familiarity with cloud-based systems (AWS).
• Excellent communication and attention to detail with a methodical, structured approach.
• Understanding of imagery acquisition from aircraft platforms (desirable).

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a nationally significant project, with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will be offered an initial four-month contract with the view to extend and receive a rewarding hourly rate!
