A prominent Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Data Specialist (Lead Data & Reporting Analyst) to significantly enhance the data integration, analysis, and visualisation capabilities of the agency. This role is part of a major initiative to improve data-driven decision-making, increase operational efficiency, and unlock the full value of enterprise data assets. The successful Data Specialist will be engaged for an initial 12-month contract, with two further 12-month extension options and flexible working arrangements.

The successful Data Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Designing, developing, and implementing automated data pipelines (ETL) from complex data sources
• Performing in-depth data analysis and developing robust data models to support complex queries and reporting requirements
• Developing and deploying interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI and creating custom applications using Power Apps
• Ensuring the highest standards of data quality, security, and governance while meeting national security requirements
• Engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and provide expert advice on data-related matters

The successful Data Specialist will have experience in the following:

• Expertise in Microsoft Power Platform and end-to-end data solutions
• Proven ability to design and implement automated data pipelines and models
• Experience with cloud data platforms and advanced scripting for data transformation
• Strong database development, automation, and visualisation skills including Power BI, Power Apps, Microsoft Forms, and SQL Server Reporting Services
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
