One of Australia’s most innovative scientific agencies is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join its Digital Earth program team. This role offers the chance to contribute to nationally significant Earth observation initiatives using satellite-derived environmental data that informs Australia’s understanding of land, water, and climate. The successful Technical Business Analyst will be offered an initial 12-month contract with a 6-month extension option and a lucrative hourly rate!

The successful Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive product lifecycle framework for satellite-derived Earth observation products.
• Mapping product maturity, ownership, and governance stage gates across multiple environmental domains.
• Reviewing and analysing business processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and alignment with strategic goals.
• Facilitating stakeholder workshops to validate requirements, manage risks, and track deliverables.
• Producing clear documentation, proposals, and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

The successful Technical Business Analyst must have experience in the following:

• Proven expertise in product management and process mapping using BPMN or similar frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder coordination and engagement across cross-functional scientific and technical teams.
• Data collection, analysis, and reporting using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report and proposal preparation.
• Familiarity with geospatial data, Digital Earth, Open Data Cube, ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth Engine.
