A leading Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a global scientific program. This exciting role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects supporting the AusSeabed initiative, which delivers freely accessible seabed mapping data and tools for Australia’s maritime region. The successful candidate will be offered a contract until 30 June 2026, with a 12-month extension option and a competitive hourly rate!

The successful Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Providing BA services to AusSeabed community working groups for guidelines and tool development.
• Advising on security assessments of tools prior to installation in government ecosystems.
• Leading business analysis and technical requirements for integrating new services into existing cloud infrastructure.
• Working with subject matter experts to document and develop system specifications for science data pipelines.
• Supporting data portal and website refresh, including “track and trace” capabilities for impact reporting.

The successful Senior Business Analyst must have experience in the following:

• Using industry-standard modelling languages (BPMN, UML).
• Requirements elicitation, particularly within the science domain.
• Systems design within the government sector.
• Business Process Improvement, Requirements Definition and Management, and Business Modelling.

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance.
