One of Australia’s leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage an multiple experienced Senior Data Engineers to support and maintain critical data assets across cloud and on-premises environments. The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract with lucrative hourly rates  and the possibility of extension.

The successful Senior Data Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Supporting and maintaining data assets in Cloud Data Lake, Cloud EDW, Legacy EDW, and SAS analytics platforms.
• Providing Level 2/3 technical support for AWS, Control-M, Teradata, Snowflake, and ETL-based data integration solutions.
• Designing and developing data pipelines using ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Developing and maintaining SQL analytical and ETL code.
• Collaborating with data consumers, database developers, testers, and IT support teams.

The successful Senior Data Engineers will have experience in the following:

• Proficiency in AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, EC2, RDS).
• Strong programming skills (Python preferred).
• Experience with Snowflake and/or Teradata.
• Control-M orchestration or similar scheduling tools.
• Operational support processes in a BAU environment.

Desirable skills include:

• Infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Exposure to ETL tools (DBT, Talend, Informatica).
• Strong SQL proficiency and SAS experience.
