A leading Federal Government agency is seeking MULTIPLE Lead Network Security Engineers to join a high-performing team. This critical role will support the operation, maintenance, and uplift of secure network infrastructure, contributing to the protection of Australia’s national interests. The successful Lead Network Security Engineers will be offered an initial 12 month contract partnered with 2 x 12 month extension options at a lucrative hourly rate.

The successful Lead Network Security Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Planning, implementing, and operating network services and systems across hardware and virtual environments.
• Testing and maintaining network infrastructure, including software and hardware devices.
• Assessing complex information systems using contemporary security frameworks and tools.
• Providing expert advice on hardening and defending systems against advanced cyber threats.

The successful Lead Network Security Engineer must have experience in the following:

• Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated experience in a cyber role.
• Strong ability to implement, maintain, and improve network security practices.
• Expertise in configuring and utilising protection components (firewalls, servers, routers).
• Proven ability to assess and enhance network security architectures and device configurations.
• Experience securing network communications and applying defence-in-depth principles.
