One of Australia’s prominent Federal Government agencies is seeking two Senior EDW Engineers (Senior Data Engineers) to support a major data transformation and uplift program. This critical role will contribute to the enhancement of the departments enterprise data warehouse, uplift of data engineering practices, and delivery of high-value analytics across key business areas. Successful candidates will secure an initial 12-month contract with strong prospects for extension, alongside competitive hourly rates.

The successful Senior EDW Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Providing technical expertise across solution design, best-practice development, release processes, and technical workshop facilitation.
• Implementing EDW Core Layer Data Integration using 3NF transformation logic, and developing reusable ETL and ELT patterns.
• Reviewing and refining the data delivery framework to optimise performance and accelerate new data source integration.
• Leading peer reviews and setting standards for data modelling, development, and release processes.
• Delivering knowledge-transfer and capability uplift sessions across development, modelling, and documentation practices.
• Analysing user requirements, developing and tuning SQL analytical and ETL code, and maintaining system documentation.
• Collaborating closely with data consumers, testers, developers, and IT support teams in a modern DevOps environment.

The successful Senior EDW Engineers will have experience in the following:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar data engineering or EDW roles.
• High competency in programming, including Python.
• Expertise with Snowflake, Teradata, or other leading EDW platforms.
• Strong understanding of DevOps processes and CICD tools, including GitLab, GitHub or Bitbucket.
• Ability to manage sensitive information and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders (desirable).
