One of Australia's most progressive Federal Government departments are looking to engage MULTIPLE lived experience mental Health Community and Peer Workers to  care for our defence service community. The successful Community and Peer Workers will work closely with Senior leaders and will be offered a long term contract - 12 months + 12 months at a lucrative hourly rate! 

The successful Community and Peer Workers will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Provide personalised peer support to current and former defence members and their families.

• Collaboratively identify client goals for their personal recovery, identify needs and develop an individualise Action Plan to identify strengths and measure progress.

• Apply Lived Experience and knowledge of veterans’ and families’ to foster and sustain strong rapport with clients 

The successful Community and Peer Workers will have experience in the following:

• Lived Experience with specific Lived Experience training eg. Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Works

• Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent

• Advocating for the importance of recovery and engaging in trauma-informed mental health support to colleagues, community and stakeholders.
