A Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex technology bundles within a large-scale digital transformation program. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget and quality while ensuring strong governance, financial oversight and vendor performance across assigned projects. The successful candidate will operate within a structured Program environment, reporting to the Program Lead and engaging with senior stakeholders and governance boards. The ICT Project Manager will be offered a contract until 31 December 2026 with 2 x 12 month extension options, open to candidates across ACT, QLD, NSW and VIC, with hybrid working arrangements available.
The successful ICT Project Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Leading delivery of large, complex ICT project bundles aligned to business and technical requirements
• Managing scope, schedule, budget, financial forecasting and quality controls
• Maintaining RAID registers including risks, issues, dependencies and change management processes
• Providing structured reporting to PMO, Program Boards and senior executive stakeholders
• Supporting transition planning, service acceptance and seamless integration into BAU
To be successful, the ICT Project Manager will demonstrate:
• Proven experience delivering large-scale ICT projects within Federal Government or regulated environments
• Strong governance, financial management and budget accountability experience
• Experience operating within structured PMO and Program reporting frameworks
• Demonstrated vendor management, procurement or multi-vendor coordination capability
• Excellent executive stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
• PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent certification
• Experience working in complex vendor transition environments
