Storage and Backup Engineer - NetApp & CommVault

One of Australia’s most forward-thinking Federal Government departments is seeking to engage a Cloud & On-Prem Storage and Backup Engineer (Senior NetApp & CommVault Infrastructure Engineer) to support enterprise-wide data continuity and resilience initiatives. The successful candidate will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options.

The successful Storage and Backup Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Architect and deploy enterprise-level storage and backup solutions across on-premises and cloud environments (SAN/NAS, AWS, Azure).
•  Develop and maintain backup strategies, monitor job success/failure, and optimise for performance.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and conduct regular recovery drills.
• Troubleshoot storage and backup issues, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal downtime.

The successful Storage and Backup Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Proven experience managing NetApp storage systems and CommVault backup solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, DAS, AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage.
• Proficiency in backup tools (Veeam, Rubrik, AWS Backup, Azure Recovery Services).
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
