One of Australia’s leading Federal Government Agencies is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst  to contribute to critical national security initiatives and strengthen the protection of complex ICT systems. This role offers the opportunity to deliver specialist cyber security guidance, drive secure solution development, and support the uplift of high value capabilities within a collaborative and mission-focused environment. This will be an initial 12-month contract with two 12-month extension options.

The successful Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to less experienced team members.
• Coordinating and contributing to the design, development, testing, implementation, support and enhancement of secure ICT systems.
• Applying contemporary cyber knowledge to develop innovative technical solutions supporting mission outcomes.
• Conducting collaborative analysis activities, including threat assessment and cyber intelligence reporting.

The successful Cyber Security Analyst will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated experience identifying, analysing and responding to cyber threats using SIEM, IDS, NSM or related tools.
• Experience developing/tuning detection rules based on attacker TTPs and anomalous network behavior.
• Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs and system hardening techniques.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a dispersed team, contributing to strong working relationships and collaborative delivery.
